2010 Executive Summit Overview

The economic indicators show that the economy bottomed out in 2009. The time for rampant cost cutting is now behind us. Hopefully you leveraged the biggest downturn in decades to align your supply chain with current demand and, if you were smart, squeeze out additional efficiencies.

As the U.S. economy emerges from recession, and we review the unanticipated challenges of the past 10 years, nothing is certain but the need to effectively manage your supply chain in a climate of uncertainty. It’s time for supply chain executives to invest (cautiously and with care) in systems and people who can effectively manage global risks.

The Supply Chain Council 2010 Executive Summit helped attendees assess and prepare for the market challenges that we’re likely to face in this decade, including:

  • Lessons learned from the recent economic downturn and natural disasters
  • New strategies for improving efficiency and responsiveness
  • Keeping up with rapidly evolving technology
  • Impact of sustainability on supply chains

Attendees to the Supply Chain Council Executive Summit reviewed key economic trends, discussed what they mean both in the short- and long-term, compared strategies for improving supply chain efficiency and responsiveness, and reviewed the lessons learned from the downturn.
