Provide more client value by building a SCOR-based practice or applications

In the new millennium ‘global supply chain design’ has become a job too big for most companies to handle solely in-house. Executives and supply chain managers know they can realize significant savings by optimizing their supply chain, but because of the complexities brought on by globalization, outsourcing, and the Internet, they need outside help. Solutions providers that can seamlessly step in and help make measurable supply improvements using SCOR’s common framework and best practices have a competitive edge.

SCOR and Related Frameworks

Since 1996 leading companies have looked to the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR ® ) model to guide them through supply chain improvement efforts. The SCOR model contains over 200 process elements, 550 metrics and 500 best practices including risk and environmental management. The unique framework links business process, metrics, best practices, and technology into a unified structure.

By introducing a common language and framework, professional services firms can build universal templates and tools; leverage benchmarking and existing research or best practices; and build transferable skill sets with clients. Clients benefit because work is built on a transparent and non-proprietary framework.

As a Supply Chain Council member, every professional in your organization will have access to the SCOR model. In addition members also have full access to the Customer Chain Operations Reference (CCORSM) model and the Design Chain Operations Reference (DCORSM) model.

SCORmarkSM Benchmarking

Using SCORmark you can benchmark your client’s supply chains using the trusted SCOR metrics. Through an alliance with APQC, a leading global resource for best practices and benchmarking, SCC members have unlimited, on-demand access to data for competitive benchmarking based on the SCOR model metrics.

SCORmark supports and integrates seamlessly into the analyze phase of the SCOR model resulting in a benchmark report that highlights where an organization stands against selected peer groups. SCC members use SCORmark to:

  • Calculate performance gaps against a global database,
  • Set reasonable performance goals based on the SCOR model, and
  • Build an organization-specific roadmap for supply chain improvement.

The SCORmark process is described in our steps of benchmarking page. For members we also have a great tutorial to help you get started.
