To better understand and discuss today and tomorrow’s industry challenges, the Supply Chain Council (SCC) Software Industry Group needs your involvement. We are looking for additional volunteers to participate in a strategic exercise that will research, define, discuss and test application software supply chain systems and processes.

Purpose/charter:

1. To define a set of standard application software supply chains.
2. To define a set of standard processes used in each defined application software supply chain.
3. To define the cost elements of the defined application software supply chain processes.
4. To provide insight into the cost (efficiency) and performance (effectiveness) of the application software supply chains through anonymous benchmarking.
5. To establish best practices benchmarks for application software supply chains.
6. To provide insight into the growth of digital distribution of application software in the supply chain.
7. To identify/understand trends in the application software supply chain.
8. To provide networking opportunities for application software supply chain professionals.

Research Questions:

1. What are the major application software supply chains?
2. What are the growing/future application software supply chains?
3. What are the standard (level 1, level 2, level 3) processes of application software supply chains?
4. What are the major cost elements of each application software supply chain?

SCC will host an introductory webinar on 12 January 2011, 1:00 PM-2:00 PM (GMT-05:00, U.S. and Canada Eastern time) to explain more about the purpose of the Software Industry Group and answer your questions. Register today!
