Our Academic members gain value at multiple levels – as an entity, for professors and for students. The biggest value in joining the Council is to help your students become more competitive in the marketplace with access to comprehensive supply chain models and frameworks as well as the potential to offer SCOR-Scholar certification. Our ongoing research initiatives and network provide you with a relevant, timely research feed to include and help augment your curriculum as well as to help support your own university-sponsored research underway. Your membership with the Supply Chain Council provides you with an opportunity to:
- Access SCOR frameworks, research and real-world case studies to integrate into your curriculum.
- Connect with supply chain practitioners to network and participate in university or professor-led research projects.
- Announce and publish your latest research efforts, articles or queries.
- Participate in ongoing research projects led by the Council.
- Offer your students individual log-ins to the Council library to conduct research and support homework, project or thesis efforts.
- Apply to offer SCOR-S scholar certification for your students. (New for 2010, the Supply Chain Council is launching the only academic certification program in supply chain management. Based on the SCOR model, the certification helps better equip the future professionals in the industry-standard model and provides a point of difference as they compete in an increasing tight job market.)
