Research Note: Cost Metrics

When you ask supply chain managers which of the metrics (or attributes) are most important for their supply chain, cost score high on their list. We know that cost management is a key focus area for those practicing supply chain management as supply chain cost are generally the largest cost component in operating a business. We continue to receive feedback that the cost metrics in SCOR today aren’t as clear or as easy to explain as we would like them to be.

Thank you for your interest

We have known this for a while: the SCOR best practices need to be updated and upgraded. As with all things classified as 'best' over time they may age. Additionally titles need to be improved and definitions need refinement. For revision 8 a project team reviewed a subset of the SCOR best practices and developed a more comprehensive documentation of these best practices. Best practices added for revision 9 and 10 complied to this new standard. The majority of the best practices still require a clean-up.
